DEEP ("we," "our," or "us") operates the DEEP - Sleep. Train. Eat. mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our App.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials. If you sign in with Apple, Google, or Facebook, we receive the profile information you authorize.
Health & Fitness Data: With your permission, we access Apple Health data including sleep analysis, heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), respiratory rate, blood oxygen, steps, workouts, and body measurements. This data is used solely to provide health insights and coaching within the App.
Profile & Setup Data: Information you provide during onboarding, including age, height, weight, body fat percentage, fitness goals, dietary preferences, allergies, activity level, and training experience.
Nutrition Data: Foods you log, meals you create, barcode scans, and macro/calorie tracking data.
Workout Data: Exercises performed, sets, reps, weights, workout duration, and personal records.
Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and app version for diagnostics and support.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide personalized health coaching and AI-powered insights across sleep, fitness, and nutrition
- Calculate TDEE, macro goals, and training recommendations based on your profile
- Track your progress, detect personal records, and generate readiness scores
- Sync data with Apple Health (read and write) as authorized by you
- Send notifications (smart alarm, workout reminders, coaching tips) if you opt in
- Improve the App through anonymized, aggregated analytics
- Process subscription purchases and manage your account
3. Apple Health Data
We treat all Apple Health data with the highest level of care:
- Apple Health data is never sold, shared with advertisers, or used for marketing
- Apple Health data is never shared with third parties for purposes unrelated to providing health features in the App
- Apple Health data is not stored on our servers — it remains on your device and in Apple Health
- You can revoke Apple Health access at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy > Health
4. AI Processing
Our AI health coach analyzes your sleep, fitness, and nutrition data to provide personalized insights. This analysis is performed server-side using your data in a secure environment. AI-generated insights are returned to your device and are not used to train AI models.
5. Data Storage & Security
Your account data is stored on secure servers hosted on AWS in the US. We use encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Nutrition and workout data synced to our servers is associated with your user account and protected by authentication.
Local data on your device is stored using iOS secure storage mechanisms.
6. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Firebase (Google) — Authentication, crash reporting, push notifications
- Edamam — Food database and nutrition information lookup
- Apple Health — Health data read/write with your permission
- App Store — Subscription purchase processing (Apple handles all payment data)
Each third-party service has its own privacy policy governing its use of data.
7. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data from our servers within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregated data may be retained for analytics.
8. Your Rights
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: Update or correct inaccurate data via your profile settings
- Deletion: Delete your account and associated data from within the App or by contacting us
- Portability: Your health data is available through Apple Health's export feature
- Withdraw Consent: Revoke Apple Health or notification permissions at any time in iOS Settings
9. Children's Privacy
DEEP is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy in the App or on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
